Canadian Space Agency

                                        Canada's National Public Space Agency

At the Canadian Space Agency, I worked on spacecraft and near-space systems within the CSA STRATOS program, contributing to flight hardware design, testing, and mission readiness through formal design reviews. I also supported the redesign of CubeSat testing infrastructure to strengthen national student space programs, gaining insight into how public space systems, standards, and investments shape equitable access to space research and experimentation.

Featured by the Canadian Space Agency for International Women’s Day, I was invited to share my journey into space and the experiences that shaped my interest in Earth observation and satellite systems. In the video, I reflected on how growing up in Nepal during the 2015 earthquake transformed space from a distant fascination into a concrete tool for climate awareness, disaster response, and human resilience.

I spoke about discovering how satellite imagery was used during rescue operations, the lack of visible role models for women who looked like me in the field, and the importance of encouraging young people, especially girls, to lead with courage, empathy, and conviction rather than likability. This feature represents a moment where personal narrative, public service, and space technology intersected, reinforcing my commitment to space systems that serve people, equity, and communities.
