Nepal Series: Taking Nepal to Space

I founded and led the Nepal Series: Taking Nepal to Space as a long-term initiative to bridge Nepal’s emerging presence with the global aerospace ecosystem, connecting institutions, expertise, and imagination across Nepal and Canada. The project treats space not only as a technical domain but as a platform for representation, capacity-building, and equitable participation, especially for regions historically underrepresented in space systems and narratives.

Through research, public communication, and cross-border collaboration, the series explores how space technologies, human spaceflight, and Earth observation can be meaningfully connected to Nepal’s priorities, including disaster resilience, environmental monitoring, and future-facing education. The work positions space engagement as a tool for expanding access, visibility, and agency within Earth’s complex systems, while reframing who gets to imagine and help shape the future of space.

1. Canada × Nepal in Space: Collaboration & Dialogue

This project convened space professionals, researchers, and students from Canada and Nepal to explore pathways for international collaboration in space science, policy, and industry. I helped organize and lead this speaker panel as part of a broader effort to connect Nepal’s emerging space interest with established aerospace ecosystems, creating space for dialogue across national, technical, and cultural boundaries.

I delivered a workshop to 80+ Nepalese students on aerospace leadership, addressing structural and political barriers to space participation and exploring pathways for taking Nepal into the global space ecosystem. The session focused on leadership development, strategic thinking, and how emerging space nations can navigate geopolitical constraints while building capacity and agency in space.
